Testimonials

We still lead active and busy working lives. When our adult children left home we sold the large family house and now enjoy all the benefits of a new lifestyle close to Leura’s Golf Course and the beautiful mountains landscape.

Aside from our new apartment, we get to relax in and enjoy superb facilities such as a heated swimming pool and spa complex, billiard and library rooms, huge lounge areas and a dining room supported by a professionally equipped kitchen all housed in the beautiful lodge.

We no longer need to worry about home maintenance or gardening chores as all these facilities are attended to by caring management staff. It feels like its all part of a wonderful holiday and one which we can share with our guests and family.

We lived in Manly and owned a holiday house in Leura – when semi retirement approached a few years ago a big decision had to be made – Manly or Leura ?

Our major lifestyle interests are family, golf, swimming, good restaurants and friends.

We decided to purchase an apartment in Leura Fairways, we play golf 2-3 times per week and enjoy a lovely outlook down the 5th fairway of the Leura Golf course. We swim in the heated indoor pool and spa and also use the Residents Lodge regularly to entertain our friends.

We have family in both Manly and Brisbane and its just great knowing that Lucy and Mark (resident managers) will keep an eye on our apartment while we are away. We are able to relax while we are away as we know the gardens are being maintained and this sense of security gives us peace of mind!

We have lived here for 15 years and know that we have made the right choice.

Our lifestyle choice

To move to an Over 55s Village in the Blue Mountains had never been at the top of my “wish” list, as a matter of fact, I had never even thought about it. However, I did wish to get away from my two-storey house because of worsening arthritis and my husband, John, wanted a green change away from Sydney traffic.

Leura Fairways has provided a quiet, caring, community feeling in a village atmosphere with a green outlook over the Leura Golf Course, one of the oldest golf courses in NSW. The Blue Mountains offer a wide variety of entertainment and interest groups and Leura Fairways Residents’ Committee organises mini bus outings for lunches, special events, overnight trips, etc. and frequent theme lunches and dinners such as for Melbourne Cup and Yulefest.

We love living at Leura Fairways, enjoying the close friendship of other residents and the ambience of the beautiful Leura Garden Village.

For over 30 years I lived in an inner west suburb, close to Sydney Harbour, the ferries, good restaurants and with a grand view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks. But in the later years there I found I was tiring of the crowds, the pollution and the traffic and I began to wonder whether it was perhaps time for a change. And then I found Leura Fairways in beautiful Leura. What a great move – I no longer have to clear the gutters, trundle out the garbage bins or mow the lawn. I really enjoy all that Fairways, Leura and the Blue Mountains have to offer.

Sydney was good ... but Leura was a great move
